Simply Spanish

About: Metro-Detroit paella food truck expands to retail ready-to-eat product.
Location: Plymouth, MI
Investment: $17,000 loan by Fair Food Network's Fair Food Fund
Partners: Fair Food Network
Impact:

Currently, Simply Spanish is making and packing all paella manually. This loan will support purchasing equipment to help Simply Spanish scale up their retail capacity

Simply Spanish serves fresh paella using traditional recipes and preparation methods passed down over generations. Made by a Valencian chef, Simply Spanish paellas are made without citric acid, hydrogenated oils or artificial preservatives and are both gluten- and dairy-free. Michigan Good Food Fund partner MSU Product Center helped owner Xavi Vitali develop this product. More recently, Xavi received technical assistance from JPG Resources to finetune a pitch deck and create a go-to-market road map. This investment from Fair Food Network’s Fair Food Fund will help Simply Spanish purchase equipment to support increased retail production.
