Alma Kitchen was born from a blend of the owners’ cultures – Alicia Sanchez’s Mexican heritage with Gary Mui’s Chinese roots – combined with their shared experience growing up in Detroit. Add all locally-sourced ingredients and Detroit’s Alma Kitchen delivers a unique and delicious celebration of diversity. Michigan Good Food Fund provided financing in 2018 through Detroit Development Fund supporting Alma Kitchen in opening a new restaurant in the Jefferson/Chalmers neighborhood of Detroit.
